The Tanzania Trade and Investments Coalition (TATIC) is a coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and representatives from media, research and academic groups from Tanzania Mainland convened for progressively building a think tank towards institutional engagement on Trade and Investment frameworks related to national and international development discourses. TATIC delivers actionable evidence and solutions to transform trade and investment policies and frameworks for inclusion and sustainability.

Finance Intern (CSO Focus)

Position Summary

TATIC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team and support our work. The candidate expected to assist in the financial management of TATIC by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. The candidate should be familiar with accounting systems especially QuickBooks, audits, invoices and budget preparations. The candidate shall demonstrate an interest in working in the CSO sector where he/she can assist in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. The candidate should also have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with data entry and financial recordkeeping.
  • Learn the basics of non-profit accounting practices.
  • Help prepare financial reports for grant applications and donor reporting.
  • Research relevant financial regulations and best practices for NGOs.
  • Processing payments, adapting financial spreadsheet with daily transactions,
  • Maintaining cost reports, process and  managing invoices, track and reconcile bank statements
  • Create cost analysis reports (fixed and variable costs),
  • Process tax payments and support monthly payroll and keep organised records, record accounts payable and accounts receivable,
  • Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers and partners as needed, provide administrative support during budget preparation

Requirements:

  • Age 18-35
  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
  • Familiar with accounting software e.g. QuickBooks
  • Organisational and time management
